There will definitely be nothing fancy here, only lengthy thoughts of a kitchen analyst, which in no way claim to be the ultimate truth. Whether you agree with my opinion on this or that issue or not is a personal matter for everyone. I can only hope to make you think. Don’t be surprised by the name. It was not without reason that I decided to start from afar.

When a person returns home after a hard day at work, he wants to relax and take a break from the boring routine. And in this, both a long time ago and now, people from one of the most ancient professions helped him. Prostitutes. But this article is not about them.

I would like to say a few words about the profession of jester and actor in order to trace the development of people working in the entertainment industry, so to speak, from the embryo. The profession has evolved and changed in accordance with the development of society and technology, but at the same time the general “postulates of buffoonery” on which this craft is based have remained the same. Let’s draw analogies with modern society.

I would like to mention the current jesters who have occupied television. Comedy club, Petrosyan’s distorting mirror… etc. – this is plebeian humor, which, like all television, does not keep up with the modern pace of social development, and therefore often looks very pathetic.

In addition, let’s not forget that television programs are constrained by the most severe censorship restrictions. Of course, you can argue with me and say that, for example, Galustyan recently parodied Kadyrov, and nothing was wrong with him. But it’s obvious that all this was agreed upon ten times over, which is censorship. And answer yourself the question: was it really funny?? Wasn’t this more reminiscent of an advertisement for Chechnya?? I remember that the pro-Kremlin Counter-TV was closed due to a careless attack on the President of the Russian Federation.

Often, programs produced on TV must be released strictly within a certain time frame. Believe me, as a person who knows the ins and outs of filming regular television programs. Because of this, people with an excellent sense of humor and good imagination are forced to churn out ideas that inevitably lose quality.

And here we immediately remember that jesters at the court of medieval rulers were allowed to ignore the censorship that existed at that time (and this was the lion’s share of the charm of this profession). Only they were allowed to joke about the king, insult nobles, behave vulgarly and provocatively. But on one condition: all this had to be funny and relevant. For the most part, this is copy-paste of Western (and even worse, if ours) stand-ups, which is a little more than completely depressing. However, although not often, there are people who do it better than others. This is the exception that proves the rule. Russian YouTube stand-up is a stillborn child. It is on the stream that your hands are a little more than completely untied (I remember, on sk2tv you could stream porn and similar trash content), and your flight of fancy is practically unfettered by anything, except for the capabilities of the player and Internet speed. This is where you can hide from television and YouTube censorship, this is where no one will set a time limit for you. It is on streams that the creativity in a person is revealed (if it is present, in principle, of course).

Is it possible to say that on streams a person is as close as possible to the conditions in which jesters at court once found themselves?? It seems that almost everything is permitted, but this does not mean impunity. Your creativity is automatically sent to the people’s court. Just as the court once did not need unlucky jesters, so today’s audience does not need mediocre streamers who cannot or do not want to work on quality.

I think it’s obvious that streaming will gradually, slowly but inevitably replace television for obvious reasons. However, now this is a relatively young and not yet fully formed, although very promising branch of the entertainment industry.

Undoubtedly, the phenomenon of streaming is too vast to consider it as a whole, and I don’t have enough information to do this, since some of the ins and outs of the streaming business remain a mystery to me, so I won’t risk it. However, as an outside observer, I can afford to consider this phenomenon from a position that is convenient for me. From the perspective of a person who belongs to a certain group of viewers. That’s right. Therefore, in my thoughts on this topic, I will start from the concept of “target audience”.

Here a reasonable question arises: what would you personally be interested in watching on stream?? What category of target audience do you consider yourself to be?? Ask yourself this simple question, reader. Do you care about cosplay and interactivity, which can be found on Denrus’s current streams, or do you want to smear yourself with the bile of the sarcastic and ironic Maddison, or turn off your brain at the RGG Gitaman, or listen to how Adolf grinds for his life on his live streams?

You may like either one thing or all at once, but depending on your mood. When talking about streaming, it is important to understand that every self-respecting streamer works for a specific, so-called target audience. The target audience is formed directly based on the content produced by the presenter. In the process of streaming, a lot depends not only on the personality of the streamer himself, but also on the game(s) he has chosen. If you choose the same Dota for full-time streams, then don’t be surprised that mother lovers from Low Prior came running to you. Therefore, the choice of game should be treated with due care.

For me personally, playing on stream is a secondary factor that only helps the presenter somehow shape his performance. It’s more pleasant for me to perceive the stream as a radio broadcast. Ideally, you can also see who is communicating with you via webcam. And you imagine the streamer as your interlocutor for this evening, who in one way or another shares with you his experience, his views and worldview, listens to your opinion, sometimes enters into friendly debate on kitchen topics of global scale, jokes – when it’s funny and when it’s not so much, but you forgive him for this, because you believe that the streamer is working on himself, his speech and his mistakes. This is what concerns me. In fact, different people like different stream formats (that’s why there is a division of different target audiences for different streamers).

Thus, we can say that the target audience is formed mainly based on three factors:

1.Tactics broadcasting

This includes the chosen image, the way of communicating with the audience.

2.Personality streamer

As a rule, this is some kind of computer game. Also, one cannot exclude, for example, films or any kind of creativity, however, these are special cases and should be considered separately.

Forming your own audience is a very responsible process. If you take it lightly, then one day you may find yourself not in a friendly and tolerant chat, but in a garbage dump with garbage from all over the Internet.

Classification of streamers
Based on the comparison of the selected background for broadcast, tactics broadcasting and personalities streamer, I present to you an approximate classification of streamers with their description and characteristics of the target audience, formed depending on the above factors.

You can complete the game yourself, but the streamer’s antics and unreasonably intrusive donations/subscriptions are more of a hindrance than a help to immerse yourself in the game. But this is IMHO, and Denis has his own audience, which is quite large and profitable. Here the question arises: are there really so many people in the world who fall for this cheap show and run to give away their money?? Yes.

People by nature are attention whore. And sometimes for some of them there is nothing more pleasant than to appear on air. And even more so in full screen. Remember yourself. You don’t subscribe just like that, you wait for the stream to be interrupted, to see your nickname, to hear the streamer’s gratitude, and even better, for something huge to pop up on the whole screen, right?? If you are an erudite, interesting, well-read and passionate person, who knows how to work for an audience (the latter skill definitely does not come right away) and is ready to share your experience, your views with the audience, not necessarily very technically savvy (it is not always necessary), if you conduct your streams, having a sincere conversation with the audience in the background of the game or without it at all, then you will gain an audience of people who are more mature emotionally and physically, who first of all need intellectual rest.

It is unlikely that a viewer who craves a colorful fire show with blackjack and donations on half the screen will stay on such a stream for long. Therefore, there will be few spectators, since most people are idiots (it has always been this way, it will continue to be so. Remember the history of Russia: 80+% of peasants under the monarchy, then the dictatorship of the proletariat, the percentage of votes for United Russia, etc., but more about this not now and not here). Such an audience – either due to its small number, or due to insolvency, or due to having an IQ above one hundred – does not bring in a lot of money. It’s enough to look at the Twitch tops to make sure that there are no people there who, on their streams, are trying to somehow educate their audience or make content with a hint of intellectuality.

The third class of streamers will be a synthesis of the first and second. In my opinion, this is the perfect streamer. Stream man. Stream-Chen-Ying from the world of streaming.
